Templeton Mausoleum

Updated: Sep 3, 2023

The Templeton Mausoleum is one of the finest examples of works in Ireland and Northern Ireland by the renowned Scottish neoclassical architect Robert Adam.

The Mausoleum was built in 1789 for the Rt. Hon. Arthur Upton and is situated in the grounds of Castle Upton. The Mausoleum can be difficult to locate since its situated and surrounded by private property so I've included a simple guide of how to get there.

Walk 200 yards down the road and take the first right

Google map guide

Once you've taken the first right, walk 50 yards and take the next left ignore the gated house on the right

Once you've taken the left walk 20 yards and take the next right until you see a line of trees engrossed by large stone walls covered in roots

Now that you've found the Mausoleum enjoy the peace and Serenity.
